Deploy Framework on DigitalOcean in 10 Minutes

Step-by-step guide to deploy the Framework monorepo stack on DigitalOcean with Dokploy and Docker.

Overview

Framework ships Dokploy configs and Docker Compose for production. This guide covers deploying Postgres, PgBouncer, Redis, Hasura, and the application services on a DigitalOcean droplet.

Prerequisites

  • DigitalOcean droplet (4 GB RAM minimum recommended)
  • Domain pointed to the server
  • Stripe account for billing module

Infrastructure

  1. SSH into the droplet and install Docker.
  2. Deploy core containers from cloud/docker-compose.yml β€” Postgres, PgBouncer, Redis, Hasura.
  3. Apply Hasura migrations: pnpm hasura:schema:apply (or pnpm hasura:migrate + pnpm hasura:metadata:apply).

Applications

Use definitions in cloud/dokploy/apps.json for app, service, website, and backoffice. Each app has a health check path documented in the deploy module.

Environment

Copy .env.example from each app. Set DATABASE_URL, Stripe keys, and OAuth credentials before first deploy.

Verify

Run pnpm dokploy:health from your local machine (requires root .env with SERVER_IP) to confirm all endpoints respond.

Conclusion

Production deploy is a configuration exercise β€” the boilerplate handles Dockerfiles, health checks, and Dokploy wiring so you focus on env vars and your product domain.
